Around Banda Aceh

Escape to nature

Visiting Banda Aceh is a must not only for urban travelers. Just couple of minutes outside the city an amazing nature is waiting for you.

Pucok Krueng

Small but unforgettable... This little pond is colored in turquoise. It is next to mountains so when swimming on your back just turn you eyes up and meditate.

Be careful of sharp shells that live there!

pantai pasir putih

Indonesia has many fabulous beaches but if you visit Banda Aceh you must go to see white sand beach around 25 km outside the city.

Wild nature, trees living in sea water and a lot of sea creatures wondering around. This is what you will find at Pantai Pasir Putih.

Puncak kuta malaka

Climb to the hill of Malaka to see spectacular scenery of Aceh and surroundings of it.

It is possible that you will be here alone. So it is a good place to melt into full force of nature.

Ie seuum

In this place of hot springs natural beauty is used not only as a touristic attraction but also as a SPA.

There are two separate pools with hot springs water for women and men. Also for Rp. 5000 you can try small saunas that are heated by steam from hot springs.

Indra Patra Fortress

On the way back from Ie Seuum (hot springs) to Banda Aceh you can stop to visit an old fortress from hindu times.

It is located by the seashore and unfortunately many of it was destroyed by tsunami. On the other hand you can witness here some historical site of Aceh before islamic era.

Mata ie pool

Sea water too warm for you? Is it too hot outside? Jump into a local pool with freezing natural water.

This place is very liked by local people and also wild life. Put your eyes up and you might see wild monkeys jumping from tree to tree.

Closer than Pulau Weh to Banda Aceh there are three wild islands that are called Pulo Aceh. One of those Acehnese gems is Pulau Nasi.

Wild and empty beaches, living at local people home and fresh food. This island can give you total recharge just in couple of days.

Lhok Mata Ie Beach

North to Banda Aceh you can reach the most Northern inland point of Sumatra. At the same time in this place you will find a beach surrounded by a local village where people look for shells in afternoon.

On the other hand the goal of this little trip to outskirts of Banda Aceh might be not the beach but beautiful road with mangrove to it.
