To get to any island in Aceh you will have to find transport. It does not matter if it is public or private jump in and explore.
Fast boat
If you cannot wait to get to Pulau Weh as fast as you can hop onto fast boat that leaves the same harbor (Ulee Lheu) as a slow boat.
45 mins and you will be there. Be prepared some jacket. Air conditioning will make you quite chilly. If you do not want to sit inside and want to watch the sea and islands go to the top of the boat.

Slow ferry boat
To get to Pulau Weh from Banda Aceh you have two choices: fast or slow ferry boat. Slow boat takes you to the island in 1hr 45min. Just be careful. Sometimes it leaves earlier than scheduled.
